About Wales Legislation

This website is managed by Her Majesty’s Stationery Office on behalf of the Queen’s Printer. The site contains the full text of all Measures of the National Assembly for Wales and Statutory Instruments made by the Welsh Assembly Government and formerly the National Assembly for Wales.

The aim is to publish these documents on the Internet simultaneously or at least within 24 hours of their publication in printed form. However, any document which is especially complex in terms of its size or its typography may take longer to prepare.

Links are also provided to the full text of all United Kingdom Acts of Parliament and United Kingdom Statutory Instruments which apply exclusively or primarily to Wales and which have been previously published on the HMSO website and are now available on the United Kingdom Legislation website.

Specific links have also been provided to the full text of the Government of Wales Acts 1998 and 2006 and associated delegated legislation which established the National Assembly for Wales.

First Minister responds to Queen's Speech

Responding to today’s Queen’s Speech, First Minister Carwyn Jones said:

“Whilst we are clearly disappointed that the Queen's Speech made no reference to implementing the findings of the Holtham Commission, the UK Government's legislative programme remains an important source of legislation for Wales. We hope to develop a constructive working relationship with the new UK Government and, where relevant, work with them to take our priorities forward - including a positive response to our request for a referendum on further law making powers in late October.”
