Analysis of the Social Care Market for Older People’s Services in London
In October 2007 London Councils commissioned a research project to analyse the social care market for older people’s services in London on behalf of the London Commissioning and Procurement Board for Adult Services. The Board, which consists of Directors of Adult Social Care in London, wished to gather information about the market in order to help the London boroughs to respond to future challenges created by looking after a growing elderly population.
Key objectives of the research were to assess current market activities for older people, get a better understanding about commissioning practices and explore opportunities for building and supporting market capacity and improving joint commissioning.
