Support for Mortgage Interest (SMI) , Red Book

2.60 – The waiting period for new working-age SMI claimants will remain at 13 weeks for one year from January 2012. The limit on eligible mortgage capital for working age SMI claimants will remain at £200,000 for one year from January 2012. (16)

The waiting time was due to extend to 39 weeks, that is revert to the old qualifying period. This change maintains the 13 weeks and extends the provision
