Trusts that provide specialist mental health services make four quarterly MHMDS submissions and one annual submission each year. The submission deadlines are approximately 6 weeks after the end of the quarter. During 2008-09 we started to provide outputs from the quarterly submissions, in addition to a statistical publication based on the annual submission.

Each set of quarterly reports includes trust level data quality reports, plus some additional analysis of the quarterly data.

Mental Health Performance Indicators

These new indicators from Mental Health Minimum Dataset (MHMDS) quarterly data have been developed to support the application the Department of Health's NHS Performance Framework for non FT mental health trusts, which will be implemented from April 2010. The data will be used in the testing of the methodology in advance of full implementation.
