Rise in number of Employment Tribunal Claims EAT report 2008/09

The Employment Tribunal have published the figures for the service from April 2008 to March 2009.

If shows total claims up from 238,546 in 2006/7 to 266,524 in 2008/9.

Also of note is the increase in Disability Discrimination cases from 5,533 in 2006/7 to 6,578 in 2008/9.

Both significant increases though tempered with the fact that the "recession" has led to a higher loss of employment.
