National rollout of 'e-Transfer' to commence next month

Following a successful pilot exercise, 'e-Transfer' - where housing benefit and council tax benefit information is sent electronically from Jobcentre Plus to the claimant's local authority - is to begin the first stage of its national rollout.

In HB/CTB General Information Bulletin G10/2009, the DWP advises that, from July 2009, the following 28 local authorities will be 'e-enabled' to receive LA Input Documents (LAIDs) from their associated Jobcentre Plus offices -

Aylesbury Vale; Babergh; Barnet; Bassetlaw; Blaenau Gwent; Bristol; Caerphilly; Cambridge; Cannock Chase; Cheltenham; Erewash; Guildford; Harrogate; Kings Lynn & W Norfolk; Kingston Upon Thames; Leicester; Milton Keynes; NE Derbyshire; Northampton; North Warwickshire; Richmondshire; South Derbyshire; South Hams; Southwark; Spelthorne; St Helens; Tower Hamlets; and Trafford.

Rollout will then continue to the remaining local authorities in batches, with all expected to be-enabled by October 2009."
