The DWP Staff Survey is available online.  This is a good insight into the organisation as it reflects on how staff feel about their work, their job, the tools and training available.

71% or 73,006 returns was achieved.

Notable.

"43 The people I manage have the skills they need to deliver their objectives (managers only) .... 48%"

Page 25 relates to how employee's feel they are "fairly assessed".

Page 28 "58 There are usually sufficient people in my unit to handle the normal workload.... 43%"

Page 30 deals with Recognition & Reward (not a good picture)

Page 31 "73 I feel valued by my part of this organisation...38%"

52% say the IT they have access to seldom provides effective support for the job they do with 5% saying it never does.

This survey is important because clearly how people feel about their work, if they have the training and tools to do there work relates directly to the quality of the product. This doesn't "paint" a good picture for those of us on the receiving end of the decision making process.
