The DWP have published there quarterly statistic's for all benefits from the National Audit Office, click here.

3.07 million claiming Disability Living Allowance up 97,000.

1.59 million claiming Attendance Allowance up 39,000.

2.33 million claiming Incapacity Benefit (including those who also get Severe Disablement Allowance). This benefit is replaced by Employment and Support Allowance and National Audit Office suggests the figures for ESA may not be a true reflection as reporting has yet to properly 'bed in'.

DLA figures for May 2010 by Gender and Care/Mobility = 3,185m

Earlier this month or last in a response from the DWP they told me that the main disabling figures were not listed due to an error calculation and would be resolved and would be available from the 16th November 2010. Checking the option today, I regret that this information was still not available and have therefore included the sytle of the Feb 2010 by Gender and Care/Mobilty.

CAUTION: The best statistics on benefits are now derived from 100% data sources. However, the 5% sample data still provide some detail
not yet available from the 100% data sources. DWP recommends that, where the detail is only available on the 5% sample data, the proportions
derived should be applied to the overall 100% total for the benefit. Users should refer to the ‘’Guidance for Users’ in the Useful Resources
section of this Tabling Tool. http://research.dwp.gov.uk/asd/index.php?page=tabtool
Definitions and conventions: Caseload figures are rounded to the nearest hundred and displayed in thousands. Totals may not sum due to rounding.
Source: Department for Work and Pensions, Information Directorate, 5% sample.
Notes:
1. Caseload (Thousands) Totals show the number of people in receipt of an allowance, and excludes people with entitlement where the payment has been
suspended, for example if they are in hospital.
2. Main Disabling Condition: Where more than one disability is present only the main disabling condition is recorded. "Other" includes 25 medical conditions.
