About the consultation

We are consulting about draft guidance on charity investments. Before we publish the revised guidance, we want to make sure that charity trustees and those who act for them:

  • are able to find the answers to the common questions they have about investing their charity’s money
  • have information to help them in weighing up the advantages and disadvantages of different approaches to investment

This consultation will help us to assess whether any further work is needed to achieve this.

Where and when to send responses

Please send responses to investment@charitycommission.gov.uk by 28th February

We will also be consulting, separately, later in December on regulations to allow charitable trusts with permanent endowments to adopt a total return investment policy by means of a resolution, using a power conferred by the Trusts (Capital and Income) Bill. We will include a link to that consultation here when it is published.
