Briefly, the lady concerned reported a change of circumstances regarding her Income Support to her local office as she is compelled to do. They were unable to log her change at the time as the computer system was down and was told someone would call her back.  After a prolonged period they did get back and told her that she still had a "continued duty" to have told the office even if they had not contacted her back. They tried to claim back £11,000 in overpayments from her.  The judgement as well as ruling on other related issues. Ruled that she has discharged her duty to inform and thereafter as she had contacted the correct office to advice on change of circumstances in the first place, the DWP were not able to reclaim any over payment from her.
