The AIDS Support Grant (ASG) is a ring fenced allocation from the Department of Health to allow local authorities to provide enhanced levels of social care for people living with HIV. In Brighton and Hove this budget is managed by NHS Brighton and Hove on behalf of Brighton and Hove City Council. The allocation is determined by a formula which takes into consideration the total number of people living with HIV in a local authority area and the numbers of women and children living with HIV. In 2009/10 Brighton and Hove received an allocation of £429,000.00. The table below shows expenditure against this grant. The ASG is guaranteed for one more year (2010/11) before it is reviewed. We are not yet aware of the amount of the allocation to Brighton and Hove.
