Under the Freedom of Information act, I would like to request the following benefits claimant statistics:
1. The total number of people claiming Disability Living Allowance.
2. The number of people receiving High rate DLA Care
3. The number of people receiving Medium rate DLA care
4. The number of people receiving Low rate DLA care
5. The number of people receiving Low rate DLA mobility
6. The number of people receiving High rate DLA mobility
7. The total number of people claiming Carers allowance
8. The total number of people claiming incapacity benefit
9. Please state how many people are claiming incapacity benefit for physical illness or disability, and how many people are claiming incapacity benefit for mental illness or disability (please provide a figure with overlap and one without)
10. The total number of people claiming Employment and support allowance who are in the assessment stage
11. The total number of people claiming Employment and support allowance who are in the Work related activity group
12. The total number of people claiming Employment and support allowance who are in the Support group
13. The percentage of claimants who terminate their claim whilst it is within the assessment stage
14. Please state how many people in total are claiming ESA for physical illness or disability, and how many people are claiming ESA for mental illness or disability (please provide a figure with overlap and one without)
15. Please state how many people who are in the ESA Support group are claiming because of a mental/cognitive illness/disability and how many people who are in the ESA support group because of a physical illness/disability (please provide a figure with overlap, and one without)
16. How much does it cost the DWP/Government for every ESA medical conducted by ATOS Origin? (How much do the DWP pay for ATOS Origins time to conduct each assessment) If an exact cost isn't available, please make an estimate or provide relevant information for an estimate to be made.
17. How many ESA appeals were there in 2009? How many were successful and how many were declined?
18. How many ESA claimants passed the assessment stage (either in support group or work related activity group) who did NOT have to attend a medical at all? (Ie. GP evidence was sufficient)
19. How many DLA claims were made in 2009? How many were successful (awarded at least 1 component) and how many were unsuccessful (awarded neither component)?

Great request. I was wondering if you'd had a response? I'm particularly interested initially in how many are claiming ESA altogether and how many will be transferred from ESA to JSA as they're considered 'fit for work'.
