Access to Work (AtW) is a specialist disability programme delivered by Jobcentre Plus (JCP), which provides practical advice and support to disabled people and their employers to help them overcome work related obstacles resulting from disability.

The latest statistics on Access to Work produced by the Department for Work and Pensions were released 27th July 2010 according to the arrangements approved by the UK Statistics Authority.

Statistics on Access to Work include data for England, Scotland and Wales for the period up to the end of March 2010. This statistical product contains statistics on the on the number of customer helped in the period and numbers of existing customer who continue to receive support.

The key points from the latest release are:

Number helped: 37,210 individuals helped in the period April 2009 – March 2010.

Number continuing to benefit: 12,780 individuals continuing to benefit in the period April 2009 – March 2010.

Statistics on Access to Work include data for England, Scotland and Wales for the period up to the end of September 2010. This statistical product contains statistics on the number of customer helped in the period and numbers of existing customer who continue to receive support.

The key points from the latest release are:

  • Number helped: 29,040 individuals helped in the period April 2010 - September 2010.
  • Number continuing to benefit: 16,900 individuals continuing to benefit in the period April 2010 - September 2010.
